Indian Navy and CRPF Collaborate in Pioneering Armament Training

In a historic first, the Indian Navy and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have joined forces to enhance armament quality management expertise. This unprecedented collaboration saw the Directorate General of Naval Armament Inspection (DGNAI) conduct a specialized training program on Armament Quality Management Systems (AQMS) for ten CRPF officers.

The program, aimed at equipping CRPF officers with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage and maintain their armament systems, was held at various naval facilities across India. These included:

  • Naval Armament Inspection Training Facility (NAITF),
  • Colaba Naval Armament Inspection (CNAI) (West), Mumbai
  • CNA (Ordnance Factory) / MILIT, Pune
  • Naval Armament Inspection (NAI), Kanpur

Rear Admiral Brijesh Vashishta, DGNAI, personally presented course certificates to the participating CRPF officers. The ceremony was also attended by Shri Des Raj, DIG (Ordnance) Headquarters CRPF, and Commodore Sujay Kapoor, Commodore (Armament Production & Indigenisation).

This initiative marks a significant milestone in inter-service collaboration and highlights the commitment of both forces to upholding high standards of operational readiness. By sharing expertise and resources, the Indian Navy and CRPF are setting a precedent for future joint endeavors in the realm of defense and security.

The training program is also indicative of the growing importance of the CRPF in internal security operations and the need for its personnel to be well-versed in the latest armament technologies and maintenance practices.
